youth hostel is located in an historical square next
to the Pescheria (the fish market) where every morning the local fishermen
meet and sell the catch of the previous night. An open market with an arabian
taste in the historical center of Catania. The Cathedral is just round the
corner and the Terme Romane dell'Indirizzo and the church frame the hostel. The palace
that accommodates the hostel dates back to the 19th century and every room
has cross vaults with ancient floors On the first floor every room, with a
overall dimension of 20 mq, there are three bunk beds and comfortable
wardrobes. The two rooms on the ground floor, thought for disabled persons,
have only one bunk bed. On the ground floor, which has cross vaults and lavic
stonewalls, there is a living room where you can listen to the music, a
kitchen and a pub with tables on the square. Under the hostel there is a
little Roman Tavern where you can taste an excellent Sicilian wine. From the
hostel, you can easily reach the sea, the volcano Etna and the suggestive Riviera dei Ciclopi. Moreover, the hostel is
located near the railway station, the airport and the harbor. How to reach the hostel? Autolinea
Alibus every 20 minutes, from 5.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. From the station:
